Chuffers

The Chuffers are several members of WMS who own, or are interested, in model railways. We meet at regular intervals, usually around someone's house. Here we help each other with building their layouts, and/or chat about them over cups of tea and sometimes slices of cake. All aspects of model railways are discussed and evaluated from DC or DCC control to the building of ancillary buildings.

We are interested in all different scales and era's as well as all forms of locomotion whether it be steam, diesel, diesel electric or just electric. All are welcome to see what we are up to and willing to give help to those who are starting out and want some help and advice.

Latest News From The Chuffers

“The Chuffers had their first formal meeting on Monday 24th August at 11am in the bar of the sprots centre. I am pleased to say we had 8 members attend and plus, Mark, who is not a Shed member, but who heard about our meeting and hopefully will become a Shed member. Also in attendance was our Chairman, Malcolm, to see what we are up to. The idea of the meeting was to see what members would like to see from the group.
This mainly appeared to be advice, help, and encouragement. Looking to the future we might even construct a “Shed” layout if room can be found. We have agreed to have a monthly meeting on the 3rd Monday of the month starting at 12 o’clock in the bowls room following the normal Monday Shed meeting. The first of these Chuffers meetings will be held Monday 21st September.
We have now set up a WhatsApp group so that Chuffers can easily ask for help/questions/advice from each other. It is already seeing lots of activity.
Dave, Grahame, and I have started work on making a layout to be shown, working, at our 10th Anniversary celebrations. Nothing sophisticated, just some track with, hopefully, a couple of trains running.
If anyone else is interested, please get in touch. Like with all our Shed activities there is a lot of chat, laughing and cups of tea involved. Just have a chat with either Dave, Ray, Grahame, or me
