Chuffers
The Chuffers are several members of WMS who own, or are interested, in model railways. We meet at regular intervals, usually around someone's house. Here we help each other with building their layouts, and/or chat about them over cups of tea and sometimes slices of cake. All aspects of model railways are discussed and evaluated from DC or DCC control to the building of ancillary buildings.
We are interested in all different scales and era's as well as all forms of locomotion whether it be steam, diesel, diesel electric or just electric. All are welcome to see what we are up to and willing to give help to those who are starting out and want some help and advice.
Latest News From The Chuffers
We had our first Monthly meeting on Monday 21st September with 9 members attending. A good meeting where many things were discussed. Some technical issues raised, and advice given how to resolve them. This is the core of the group, where we have novices and experts all willing to help.
The subject was raised on whether we, as a group, would like to build a “Men’s Shed” layout and the general consensus was Yes! This will have to be discussed further if room can be found within The Shed.
It was reported that a temporary layout has been constructed by Dave, Grahame and me for the
Shed’s 10th anniversary. This will have a DCC circuit and a conventional analogue circuit. It was agreed we will have our next meeting on Monday 19th October at 12o’clock in the meeting room. From talking to the various members, and comments on WhatsApp, there is a lot of momentum with various projects which is good to hear. Also, much help and advice is being given and received.

as the narrow gauge to install, oh
and a bridge to build.
