Music Group
The Music Group is open to all Shed Members. You can either bring along a track to play (CD or by mobile app preferred) or just come along and listen to the selections of others. We have a monthly theme, and all types of music are welcome. The Club meets on a monthly basis throughout the year – normally the first Wednesday in the month and starting as soon as possible after 9.30 in the room at the back of the bar near the pool table. There is no additional charge other than the usual £2 Shed sub payable in the social room. We also run a quarterly Music Quiz in the same room after four sessions each year, from 12 - 2, with lunch or snacks available from the bar.

We were a week late this month as I was on holiday, but Wednesday 10th June saw 21 members attend a great session themed around “My Favourite 70’s Song”. There were some really good songs that made you realise how wide the musical choice was at that time. There was also the usual complete difference of opinions, with at least three songs scoring both 1 and 10 from different attendees! The range was also impressive, from classical to folk rock, via heavy rock and easy listening, with plenty of interesting stops in between.
The top five tunes were:

=3rd “Cat’s in The Cradle” by Harry Chapin, picked by Robin, both on 155

5th “Because the Night” by The Patti Smith Group, picked by Nigel, on 146
Our next meeting will be back to the first Wednesday, July 1st, when the theme will be “A Real Classic”. Make sure you are there by 9.30 so we can make a good early start as we are regularly getting 20 or more attending.
We always have a good time and lots of good-natured chat, so if you enjoy music of any kind why not come along? You don't even have to bring along something to play if you don't want to, as you are more than welcome to just come and listen to our many and varied selections.
